Here are some misc. notes related to science. Just was thinking about it. --8/10/23

### Fact
A fact is a one-off observations that have been shown to be true.
### Law
A law is a description of an observed phenomenon, based on facts. For example, Newton's Law of Gravity simply describes the behavior of two or more bodies and their motion towards each-other, but does not state *why* this happens. That's the realm of *theory*
### Theory
A theory is a description of an observed phenomenon *with an explanation and framework for understanding*. While Newton's Law of Gravity is good, Einstein's Theory of Relativity describes not just the how (which is more precise) but the *why* (we live in 4-D spacetime).
Theories can be challenged on both the description of the world, as well as the explanation behind what happens. Theories that have been around for a while are rigorous and represent humanities best understanding on why that phenomenon happens.
