A personal knowledge management system is an all encompassing system for capturing thoughts and information, transforming them into [[Idea|ideas]], then parsing and using them effectively. It's essentially a pipeline for knowledge in your life.
You would set a PKS up to be able to search through previous research, but also effectually ingest new research. This increases [[Productivity]].

> Something important is to keep knowledge inside useful, and not just making notes for the sake of making more 'content'.
> * This is where most people fall out of note taking.
> * This is why you'll see so many 'unlinked' notes. If I have something to write about it, I will, otherwise, I'll mostly link proper nouns.
It can also help with keeping life productive. Creating a personal knowledge system that works together with other tools can keep life ticking on. Combining a reading list tool with Obsidian would give a list of things to research to put in Obsidian.
## Storage
This is generally in whatever application you want to store the data in.
* [[Obsidian]], which is the PKM system I use.

## Dashboards
A dashboard is a type of page that takes all available PKM data and tries to distill it into one page. If something requires attention, it would show here. In an intra-connected PKM system, this is easy to automate.
# My System

* For articles I want to read, or highlights to process from Kindle, I use Readwise.

## Recall
* Obsidian takes this place. My notes are stored here.
